Your Resources
Find strategies and tools to help you overcome barriers to your homesteading activities. Improve your ergonomics and strategies. Find resources to help you, in person or online.
Boundless Homestead provides resources for accessible homesteading despite barriers.
In our homesteading journey we realized how difficult it was to find honest and good resources (information on how to do things, reviews of tools, etc.) and how difficult it was to find modifications based on your circumstances (especially disability).
Boundless Homestead consists of a husband and wife team of homesteaders / therapists (Alex is a physical therapist and Kyrstin is an Occupational Therapist). They are Christians, with three small children, on acreage with chickens, ducks, rabbits, barn cats, red wigglers, and slowly expanding as able.
During their career they have helped clients achieve their goals after catastrophic and chronic disabilities and illnesses in a variety of settings (from the ICU to out on the farm). Kyrstin has focused on the neurological population and Alex on the orthopedic and chronic pain populations.
Homesteading for many is a health journey. We want to help you on this journey by painlessly connecting you with the right resources.
Our Beginning
Quality, not quantity to start (building up to quality AND quantity)
Help us to prioritize by letting us know what YOU want to see.
We are just launching so will build more resources as we go. We are starting a blog, including short (easy to digest) videos and short-text information based on the topics above.
What we plan on reviewing (and would like your input on, based on your experience):
Therapy resources: Ergonomics, stretching, physical demands and adaptations to your homesteading activities, managing / conserving energy, managing pain, training a caregiver, finding a local therapist (including when you need to pay cash or don't have funds) and how to use their services to meet your goals, when to return to your homesteading activities, and more on staying healthy while homesteading.
Knowledge resources: there are many online classes, webinars, summits, blog posts, videos, and communities but how do you find them, and then know if they are worth your time and/or money? Find our reviews and comment with your own reviews.
Item resources: There are many items online but do they actually work, are they well made and actually last, are they ergonomic, are they going to make your life easier?
Community resources: there are many organizations doing awesome things supporting your homesteading activities, but they can be difficult to find. Share what you've found and find more on here!
We will add classes and webinars as we are able to.
