Garden with small children
Garden with small children without going crazy. Set up a play area in each work area.
STRATEGIES

Here is my <1 video of some of our play spaces strategically placed around our homestead.

Our kids also love helping out with homesteading tasks but usually not every part for the whole time, so it's helpful to have an option to play, even when they are involved in everything as well.
My youngest loves pulling things up from the garden so I've started collecting colorful (but not easily broken) garden decorations to distract them from the plants.
I dream of setting up a natural playground (using logs and such) as well but that's on the long project to do list.
What areas or toys have you found to be favorites? Do you have older kids that need a different set up? My oldest is six and she mostly prefers to stick with me and chat if she's not able to physically participate in the chores. Have you found your older kids still need something to do while you chores?
