Check out my 47 second video on my awesome cooking thermometer.

Don’t waste the meat you’ve worked hard on at your homestead (or paid good money for). Cook it to perfection without using plastic with the sous vide method by using a meat thermometer.

I bought this one https://www.thermoworks.com/smoke-x/ on sale (it's currently not on sale; $200, but I believe I got mine for $160). It can be used in the oven, on the stove, and in the grill.

The battery powered receiver has a radio range that’s much better than blue tooth, especially through walls, so when I leave the room the monitor will still tell me when my meat is done (hello short attention span!).

Mine has four temperature probes, which is great when cooking different foods or different thicknesses at the same time, and each probe can be set to its own low and high temperatures. There are hooked and straight probes as well.

There are other meat thermometers that connect to phone apps but they had variable reviews and I don't always have my phone (it might be charging or I just don't want to have it with me all the time as a lifestyle) and I don't want to have it on my phone to distract me (I check on the meat temp and then...oh look at that shiny notification).

The alarm for my receiver is loud and obnoxious; just what I need to pull me into the kitchen.

I also appreciate that you can buy replacement parts (such as probes or another receiver). I haven't needed to do that yet but eventually the probes will wear out and I'd rather replace a probe for $20 than the entire unit.

Hot tip: the probe is hot (ask me how I know) so use an oven mitt when taking it out of your food.

Have you ever forgotten something that you're cooking?
