Why get an auto timer for grow lights?

We use Wyze smart plugs. They've been pretty reliable and cost effective (every once in a while one of our Wyze devices, of the many we have, disconnect or have died completely, but much more often they work fine). We use ours to turn on and off our grow lights automatically. Even if you have your plants conveniently in your home that is just one more thing to remember. If you have your plants away from the main part of your home, such as your garage, greenhouse, etc. you have even less of a chance of remembering AND there's the added inconvenience of going out first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We have ours on 16 hours a day, as has been recommended by others, so run our lights from 5am-9pm. In February it's dark and cold both those days and I don't want to walk out to our shop to manage the lights.
